Dream about it, decide to take action, and enjoy it!
YOU are well worth it!!

Taking time, out as a mother, is important. Work from home moms have many responsibilities to juggle during the week. YOU are important! In order to prevent burnout, you must take some time for yourself. This is especially true when working from home.

Time out allows you to get a break from day to day stressors. It helps you have down time to clear your mind. Taking time will increase productivity levels as well. Scheduling time for yourself should be done on a routine basis. Taking time for you can be as little as a few small times throughout the day, to taking a day off each week. There are many things that can help you. Here are some ideas to consider:

Take a walk, even if it is 15 minutes
Do stretching exercises
Step outside on your patio for a short time
Leave the house for a little bit, without the kids
Learn stress relieving breathing exercises
Watch a favorite movie, or take some time to read
Have a romantic dinner with your husband or best friend
Take a bubble bath
Listen to some calming music by candle light
Learn yoga or a similar relaxation technique
Close your eyes in a quiet room for a short period of time
Volunteer for a needy organization
Work on a flower garden or vegetable garden
Do some yard work
Take some time to look at the moon and stars

What do you enjoy doing?

What do you enjoy doing, which you have not taken time to do, lately? Maybe, you need to call an old friend that you have not heard from in a while. Maybe, you would like to learn scrapbooking, but have never taken the time. Think about things that you would like to do. Choose and commit to taking some time out for you.

Time out Helps

Time out helps you to clear your mind. It helps you to get away from the pressing things in life. It allows you to return to your day to day duties and feel like you can handle things. It gives you additional strength to carry on.

If you are taking time out and coming back dreading work or taking care of the family, then something needs to change. If you are not taking enough time for yourself, this can happen. Or, if you are overdoing things beyond your ability, dread and depression can set in.

In order to take care of things in life, you must maintain your health. This includes your mental health. When an individual is not doing well mentally, distortion can set in as well as other troubles. Troubles in thinking can plaque the individual, who has not taken enough time out.

You are Hereby Challenged!

From one work from home mom to another – I hereby challenge you to take time for yourself! YOU are important to you, your family and your friends! Please plan sufficient time out for yourself. It may be hard at times, but to continue down the work from home path successfully, it is needed.

Commit to a regular time during your day or week to have some YOU time! Think about what you would like to do. Think about what you would like to learn. Make a list of things that are important, that you would like to take some time to do. THEN DO IT!!!!
